How about this for the worm finally turning?  An employer in Germany has fired some of his people for NOT smoking!  The story appeared last week on Reuters "Oddly Enough", under the headline:

Now that's what I call asserting your rights.  In our crazy modern world where whatever the collectivists want automatically trumps the property rights of business owners, homeonwners, or anyone else who actually OWNS something, it's about damn time someone put their foot down.

To all the whiners who snivel, "But I don't want to work in a place where people are smoking!" the answer is simple - DON'T WORK THERE!  Work someplace else instead.

Me?  I'm a "part time" smoker.  I smoke cigars when I choose to smoke.  I like nothing more than a good Churchill when I'm pounding away at the keyboard- at home.  At work, I prefer a non-smoking environment.  Neither of which do I have any right to IMPOSE on my boss and his property, or on my customers and THEIR property. 

And if an "evil" corporation refuses to hire me because I smoke at home, all well and good.  They have just as much right to decide who works for them and why or why not as I have indeciding if I want to work for them.

So my Homburg's off to that German boss!  Give 'em hell!
